What did you learn in kindergarten that you wish you did a better job of applying to the way you live your life today?
Nap time... I absolutely loved nap time when I was in kindergarten and I wish I was better able to apply it to be everyday life. Life would be so much more enjoyable if the adult world allowed everyone a 40min nap during the day... think about how rested you would be and better able to tackle those problems? It would be awesome. Haha
If you had to participate in any reality show, which one would it be?
I would participate in The Mole which is hands down my favorite Reality show ever and I am very excited to see it come back starting Monday!!! It had to be on like 6 or 7 years ago and I loved it... I'm hoping that this new season is just as good.
What are the goofy nicknames you have for your pet? Bonus points for sharing a picture of him/her.
Submitted by Papi Chulo.
Well my Cat's name is Zeus... orginally Scooter but that was a stupid name and he didn't answer to it anyways... above is a picture of my kitty being lazy which is what he likes to do. Well he now answer's to Zeus but all of George's friends and a few of mine have their own names for him and he actually answer's to that name if that person is calling him.
Kalky... the best man in our wedding, named him Leuy and then are other friend Jonathan said he looked like a Melvin... so then they combined it to make Leuy T. Melvin which us a cool name I suppose.
Miss Julianne named him Malcom and then upgraded it to Stinkyman Malcom because of how bad he can stink up the house after using the litter box.
Meghan named him Satan which was then changed to Hades or however you spell the greek god of the underworld. That name has since faded but it was still one of them so it was mentioned.
Other then those George and I just refer to him as Buddy alot but those are his many names.
Onward to my fish now haha... I have a bunch of strange named fish... We have Sir Sucks Alot (A sucker fish), Albino (an albino shark), Frank (A Bala shark which George named... his brother Harry died), Mayo DaWayne (A Catfish of the DaWayne family), Dyslexic DaWayne One and Two (An upside down catfish although I think Sir Sucks Alot ate one of the two) and lastly we had Fairy (A rainbow shark who died a few days ago.) Those are my fishy's names but I can't get pictures of them... only Frank, Mayo and Sir Sucks Alot swim around... the rest hide.
What is your favorite quote and why?
I have tons of favorite quotes and one of my favorite things to do is look for quotes on websites to fit my various moods. Here are my current favorites since it is impossiable for me to narrow it down to one (and this is excluding favorite song lyrics of course) I have no clue who said any of these though so I'm sorry
"True love cannot be defined by any means. It is a cluster of adjectives. It's crazy, passionate, complicated, painful , but most importantly- true love is real. It's that feeling of being inexplicably drawn to another person. Love isn't finding someone who you can escape reality with, it's finding someone who makes reality worthwhile" - I love this one because it can describe exactly how I feel that love is. I mean love is a wonderful feeling but it can be painful and tough and all those other things but it is worth it and thats what this quote is getting at to me.
"It's not so much that we're afraid of change or so in love with the old ways, but it's that place in between that we fear . . . . It's like being between trapezes. It's Linus when his blanket is in the dryer. There's nothing to hold on to." - I love this one since I don't like change haha. I agree completely with this quote because at least in the old ways you know how things are and what to expect, it's routine and I like routine. It's the getting used to thing stage that is scarey... when your finding out what to expect and your not sure how things will turn out. I also love this because it makes a snoopy reference haha.
"I don't really believe in regrets. All my experiences, even the ones that didn't turn out the way I wanted them to, I firmly believe they were all worth it." This one is from Gilmore Girls but I love it because I don't have any regrets in my life. I have made mistakes but they have made me into who I am today and I am happy with that.
"We're adults. When did that happen? And how do we make it stop?" I'm pretty sure this one is from Grey's anatomy but I just find it funny. Sometimes it's no fun being an adult and I would give anything to go back and be this messed up teenager again because I didn't have to worry about bills or jobs or anything. I could just go out and have fun.
Those are just a few of my quotes but we would be here all day if I found more then that.
Which book would you love to see adapted into a film?
I'm not really into the whole book gone movie thing because if it's meant as a book half the time the movies don't do them justice. Take Harry Potter for example... these are amazing books and I was so excited when they were being turned into movies but they just aren't any good. The movie people should have waited for the entire series to be written before hoping on the Harry Potter Bandwagon because the movies have left out some critical pieces of the books that are important later on and in the mean time it makes the movies hard t follow if you haven't read the books. Not the mention Harry Potter 5 was the longest book of the series and so far the shortest movie... figure that one out.
I guess I would ike to see Harry Potter redone as a movie series haha. I mean the Lord of the Rings triology were great books (so I heard) and great movies because the writers and directors took the time and money to make it that way. Harry Potter could be the same way now that the entire series is written. Other then that I think most my books are already movies...Maybe a few of Nicholas Spark's books because those never let you down. I wish I had more time to read :(
What's your musical horoscope? (Put your music player on shuffle and write down the first 10 songs that come up.)
Why not give this a try... I should be doing homework but what the heck!
1. We've Got it Going On- Backstreet Boys (Backstreets Back)
2. Find Your Way Back- Michelle Branch (Hotel Paper)
3. I Can't Win- Default (One Thing Remains)
4. Girls & Boys- Good Charlotte (The Young and the Hopeless)
5. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays- N'Sync (Home for Christmas)
6. Falls on Me- Fuel
7. Complicated- Avril Lavinge (Let Go)
8. Slipped Away- Avril Lavinge (Under the Skin)
9. Kiss Me at Midnight- N'Sync (Home for Christmas)
10. Someday- Nickelback (The Long Road)
Now that is one crappy display of my music taste because I only listen to 4 of those 10 songs haha... I'm just too lazy to delete them. I mainly listen to Lifehouse right now because my love for them has turned into an obession... oh well :)
Are you watching the Super Bowl today? Who are you watching it with, and which team do you want to win?
No I am not watching it... I hate football the rest of the season so I really don't see how I should enjoy the Superbowl. I don't get people who do watch it even though they don't watch or even follow football any other time. It makes no sense to me. I am however, hoping the Patroits win so they can be undefeated just because it is cool.
What's the best book you read this year?
The best and the worst Book I read this year was Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows. Bet you couldn't have guessed that one? It was an amazing book and an awesome end to the Harry Potter Series... but that is what makes it the worst... it is the end to the Harry Potter series. It was so addicting as well... every Harry Potter book has a point in it where it hooks you... I like to call it the point of no return. No matter how many times you read the book you get to that point and you can't put it down until you finish it. Normally this spot does not occur until the last 100 or sometimes 200 pages... Nope this occured not even half way through the book on my lunch break at staples. While this shows a good book it made me late back to work and caused me to stay up all night reading it and going to work the next day on 2 hours of sleep. It wasn't just me though because a few days later DiNitto came in looking really tired and I asked "Harry Potter" and he replied "Uh Huh". So all in all it was one amazing book... I do need to read it again though because the end was alittle hazy... but it was 3am. I'm sure I would have been hooked from the beginning had I been able to stay off the internet and now have it spoiled for me >:( I'm sure that it will be the best book I read in 08 as well...
Have you figured out what your (or your kids') Halloween costume will be this year? What's it going to be?
I have decided that I am going as a crayon =) First of all I am getting paid to go trick or treating (how cool is that) but I probably won't actually ask for candy because I won't eat any of it, and I think I am a little too old for that. But secondlly why would I go out a buy a costume? I already have the crayon outfit from that school project from the beginning of the year... it's perfect. Too bad the girl I am taking doesn't understand why I want to be a crayon... or why I made a crayon costume in college... Oh well
In honor of World Teachers' Day today, tell us about a teacher who had a positive impact on your life.
Two teacher's come to mind for this question... the first one is Mr. Lucason my High school Biology teacher. Now at this point in my life I hated science...everything about science. I even refused to disect the frog in class because it grossed me out. But Lucason made it better. He was a fun teacher who used real life examples and humerous stories in his teaching. He even brought in a road kill deer he passed that morning on the way to school so that he could show us the insides... (I didn't touch that though because my high school was poor and couldn't afford alot of gloves and Lucason told use we could do it without gloves...gross). He also taught the class like a college course, something that really helped me in the future. By taking his class in high school it taught me how to study for science based things which is one of the only reasons why I did not struggle through Anatomy and Physiology in college... Thanks Mr. Lucason!
The second teacher that comes to mind is Dr. Pack... my college professor for Gross Anatomy and Neuroanatomy. This man is hands down the best teacher I have ever had and probably will have. He connected really well with his students and knew how to teach with humor which really helps in remembering and understanding concepts. He also was very approachable for questions on homework, or basically anything that was going on in your life. His office door was ALWAYS open unlike most professors and he kept a supply of candy and coffee for his students. To this day he is still the professor you can go and visit and just talk about life with... I mean I haven't had him for two years even though I did work for him last year and I sat down in his office this semester and visited for 30mins. He also is awesome to work for as he tells you to make up hours so you get your money's worth from the college.
